April 2015 Janak was in Tokyo searching for dragon balls. He would get a bag of pastries every morning that he would eat throughout the day. He was staying in Asakusa and he went out from his hotel to find some pastries. He saw this really big guy on the corner of two streets and he could tell he was staring at him down. He thought this dude was gonna beat him up so he walked in every direction other than walking by him to try and find some pastries. He couldn’t find any shops so he had to walk behind him to keep looking for a shop. If you know Janak you know how crazy loud his clothing is and back then he was even more of a loose cannon. He tried to sneak behind this big guy unnoticed and while he was walking behind him he turned around and said to him “OH BRAH, where you from?” Completely caught off guard and terrified Janak replied “uhhh New Jersey...” He said back to Janak “Brah where you get those clothes? Those are crazy!!” Naturally Janak told him “Oh I made these!” He said back to Janak “I love colors brah! You gotta make me some these clothes!!” Janak said “sure!... do you know where I can get some pastries?” “Yea get in this cab with me” the large colorful haired man said. So Janak got in the cab and the man asked if Janak knew who he was. Janak had no idea. He gave Janak his card and told him next time you're in Tokyo to hit him up and we’ll go do some sumo stuff. Janak got out of the cab and wasn’t really sure exactly what happened. Little did he know he just met his big brother that he didn’t even know he had. Over the next few years the two large colorful men continued to grow closer and encouraged each other’s colorful lifestyles and attitudes more and more. Five years later these boys launched a clothing line together called Sumo Stomp Threads. The mission of our company is to make colorful (shirts covered in shapes and colors) clothing for people of all sizes shapes and colors. Sumo Stomp Threads is a brand born from the love of funky style from a Sumo wrestler from Japan and an otaku Doctor from New Jersey - Konishiki Yasokichi (Sale) and Janak Tull (Johku).
